The probability of a Mafia member hitting a player with twice the defense of the shooter is higher than the chance of hitting a player with a block. Everyone seems to ignore defense, but block is right there!

Both teams have a role with self-protection, which means the Mafia can only hit two roles, as they won't shoot their own teammate. Therefore, they hit the boss of the second Mafia team or a peaceful player. I think the chances are higher with block.
