More alive than the living.

I have just one question (maybe it has already been asked). In the campaign, Zephyr destroys Markel in such a way that nothing can resurrect him. Some demon fights Zephyr in magic, even with the help of an artifact. I think this contradicts the previous story. Correct me if I'm wrong.
