A terrible bug with prisons has been discovered.
At 86, 125, there is a prison in a swamp behind a Gnoll horde. According to the plan, a level 5 Jabarkas should be there.
At 79, 67, in the desert, there is a prison where a level 30 Jabarkas is located.
...
Both players were using version 3.20, HD+, but it seems that nothing has changed with the prisons in the latest updates.
Sometimes we read the changelog.
3.25 -> 3.26 (23.12.2012)
[-] (author - Sav) bug: in random maps, one hero could be in multiple prisons, and as a result - have a very high level with weak prison guards.
• I am more concerned about the fact that I was able to connect with the player Twaryna, using my version 3.28 and his version 3.20, and with HD+ (I rechecked myself - these versions do not connect via Hamachi, I looked at Twaryna's Heroes folder - there is a 3.20 launcher and the modification date in the attributes is still 23.12.2012). Also, after the game, the opponent asked me for a password. Moreover, the connection itself was somewhat unstable: there was no window with a notification about version mismatch, but there was a message that the player had not entered a password, and it seemed that he removed the password (I don't remember exactly), the game started, but a password was required to load the save.
Again, I tried to create a two-on-two game, but I couldn't launch it with passwords.

I encountered a serious problem, the HD mod 3.98f does not work for me in GameRanger, so I have to play via Hamachi.
...
GameRanger has been "going crazy" for the last six months: sometimes it is impossible to change the keyboard layout, then a poorly integrated flash advertisement for games appeared in the main window, consuming a lot of processor resources, then - "unobtrusive" advertising (already local) in the Rooms, some constant bugs when trying to write text in the Room, causing the program to freeze. And now - even Hamachi closes when trying to access it from a running GameRanger! This did not interfere with the connection - as it was constantly stated in their warning messages, but it looks like an attempt to eliminate competitors. And I was even surprised that the number of foreigners playing with Hamachi has increased so much.
Also, when playing with foreigners, there is often a problem because almost everyone has a router that is not configured or incorrectly configured, and most likely, it is precisely the hardware (built-in) firewall, and almost no one sees/takes into account the Windows firewall (or brandmauer), not to mention third-party programs. And giving advice in words is not quite in the spirit of the times, and the same thing has been written and rewritten many times.
