As for the mages, I think you can defeat them even without vampires. Give Sandro Magic Resistance 1 in the Veterans Guild, then you can pick off the mages during the turn so that they don't cast poison, and you can protect yourself from melee attacks with skeletons. You also need to cast
Spell Steal and take demons with you so that they quickly drain the mana from the elders, then just poison the enemies and wait for them to die.:p
