Wow, how they rushed to defend the "everyday" and "cultural" aspects of alcoholism. :)

There is no such thing as "everyday" or "cultural" alcoholism. There are people who become addicted, and I repeat, in 99% of cases, it is their own choice, and their future depends on their further choices – whether they will die in their prime or be able to overcome this ailment. Of course, their choice can also be influenced by their environment and surroundings – "Being determines consciousness."
