The only one who could commit such a heinous act is a Republican pilot.

Luke would kill with a sword.
Leia would use a blaster.
Solo would use a blaster.
Akbar wouldn't use just one fighter. That is, there would be a scene describing a fighter attack. They hit the hull. Someone died from the explosion. Something like that.
That leaves the soldier.

The following points support this version:
- It's beneficial for Luke to go with ND-02 on the first night. To learn the role. Then he will target a kill (Night 02).
- Leia creates a diversion for Tarkin. It's beneficial to do this as often as possible.
- Solo aims. Then he will kill two. Therefore, he is candidate #1 for ND on Night 02. Luke will sleep.
- Akbar retains the right to use his ultimate ability. Therefore, it's better not to target him at all until he uses his ultimate.
- The soldier is the most useless role in the Mafia.

In total, considering that only 3 NDs can be performed per night:
- the soldier kills;
- Luke determines the role;
- Solo prepares to go solo.
