There were no giants in the past; there is no real evidence for this, except for Richard Thompson's overactive imagination, who thought he had found what he desperately wanted to find. There is a saying: if you tell a person for a long time that he is a fool, he will eventually start to believe it. Suggestion and self-suggestion are insidious things and often border on schizophrenia, and if all this is multiplied by the brainwashing of some kind of sectarian nonsense, then the situation is really hopeless.
