Construction sets were cool, and so were model railroads; there were also authoring tools... but I didn't really understand if you could influence the course of the Competitive game in any way. I remember going to an entertainment center, and there was an awesome track there, and the cars would drift on the turns – that was fun. I liked puzzles. I never got into Transformers or robots, although I did buy a few Bionicles because everyone was playing with them. No to toy soldiers. I voted for radio-controlled toys because I used to build them myself. Well, to be more precise, I had a factory-made circuit, but I tried to make the body out of wood. I made the most epic boat. I even put two motors in flasks, the kind they use to blow plastic bottles, and it looked powerful, like a torpedo. I remember one spring, all the streets were flooded, and we launched it in the puddles. But there was a downside, and it was a serious one: the boat listed heavily, and the receiver only had a range of 10 meters; I was a poor kid, after all. And in the end, it almost got carried away by the river once, and I had to wade into the water to steer it back. So I got disappointed and sold it to someone. Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. And we also collected various radio components and soldered circuits; that was cool.
