Well, we will certainly try to accommodate you. It's still feasible during the holidays, but it's a bit problematic on weekdays.

Yes, of course – you can play any day with any pair by agreement – it's unclear why they made the fixed pairing – it's very inconvenient.

This is actually convenient. There's no need to chase after someone, catch up with them, etc. Everyone should gather at the same time. And if we allow a free choice of opponents, we risk getting a situation like "I could have played that Saturday, but you played with someone else, and this time I've already made arrangements, etc."

I suggest making the first round last 3 weeks, as many are participating in tournaments in Kingisepp or Moscow...

Of course, these tournaments are a valid reason. Besides 05.01, there is also 12.01. If it's not possible to play on 12.01, then we will think about extending the deadline.
