Regarding gods: there is the Absolute, in a way, a universal mind. The Christian God is a more personified embodiment of the Absolute. Islam is another interpretation of Christianity (the foundations are almost the same). Buddhism is more about worshipping balance, and ancient cults are personifications of common human thoughts. Don't think that God will solve all your problems. As the saying goes: "Trust in God, but don't be lazy!"
And regarding creativity: there is also the saying "every talent is a little bit from the devil!"
