HoMM3 HD is a mod (add-on) for the game Heroes of Might and Magic 3.

I don't know if this is related to the HD mod or not, but I installed a clean copy of the complete collection, on top of version 3.23, and updated to 3.24. Now, it freezes when I click "create game" (it doesn't even open the menu). This happens both in online and hotseat modes.
