Confirmed. The game came down to whether the human would attack the mages or not. Unfortunately, this isn't balanced.
The dwarf was playing at his limit; he only had a level 1 hero and no logistics on level 2, and he was level 19. In the beginning of week 4, he found a treasure that spawned a week away from the castle through the desert. He rushed as much as he could, but at the end of week 5, Rutger, already level 25 and with mini-artifacts for 37 knowledge, ambushed him at the entrance from the Grove of Offering to the starting area. There was no point in continuing after that, but he didn't give up immediately, only out of spite.
