Brother, no one is saying that Vigo is flawless.
But various facts can provide characterization.
For example, I witnessed Vigo trying his best to help people at the wedding of my comrades. I've seen many times how Vigo, seeing that someone is going through a difficult time, tries his best to make things better for that person. Is that a character trait?
