Vasily Ivanovich, Petka, and Furmanov are sitting drinking vodka, Furmanov is pouring. Himself half a glass, V.I. half a glass, and Petka a quarter. He poured the first round, poured the second round, and is pouring the third. V.I. says to him.
V.I.: Why are you pouring so unevenly, it's time you got the hang of it.
Petka: What hang of it, it's time to give him a beating.
