Round table

Can someone explain it to a newbie? Why do Magogs attack my Phoenixes and not use their Fireball on the Devils standing next to them? (by the way, Liches too). In the first round, just press "Wait." It didn't take any HP from the Devil, not even a peasant deals 1 HP of damage! And here, it deals nothing.
