I remember a game of Vic vs. Dubrovin on Jebus Cross: Vic had a decent setup, but overestimating his capabilities, he threw the game down to zero around turn 112 or 113 (I watched the stream) — gritting his teeth, Yura keeps playing; when asked what the point is, he gives a roundabout answer about where we could go. On turn 114, Dubrovin writes that he surrenders: he also threw the game, but his nerves turned out to be weaker.
No... it's not about nerves... it's about assessing the prospects... Yura had a Hydra for the next turn, which he would use to take the Hive... while I, having thrown the game, saw no prospects without an Army.
