Spawned in a basement, no treasure spots visible, Gogs not built, but there's Charna in the tavern, a pendant +5 to Necromancy is glowing, the Griffin Conservatory is minimally scouted, and there's a mercenary camp - intriguing. On the second day I go for the boars (they were guarding the Conservatory and a campfire), supposedly to raise skeletons, but there turned out to be an indecently large number of them, close to 40, plus they had morale - they killed all the Imps and some Gogs. Picked up 2 chests - both 2000 gold, good, recruited Efreeti. I fight my way up through a group of zombies, that also turned out awkwardly, and I had to sacrifice Gogs to avoid losing the Efreetus, and the Harpies also fell. Up above there's a swamp and Magog stand, so I turn back. In the end I was left with 115, 2 Efreeti in hand + 4 Gogs and a few skeletons). I captured a Helm +4, broke the camp, there were Cavalry - cheers! We had just upgraded Tactics - I broke through the Magog without losses. I break the mini Conservatory onto the swamp and pick up a chest - just enough to recruit Pits. Total 1-6, no Dogs, at the Citadel, 0 gold. I spent the night, Charna with 2 Efreeti, a scout hero with 50 skeletons and 2 Cavalry, when out of nowhere, the enemy on the road! I buy back both. No gold even to redeem, had to build a Market and sell almost down to zero.
In short, Max dragged it out a bit, went poking around the swamp for some reason, while I leveled up a bit in magic, captured the Conservatory, and gathered enough gold to buy all the Efreeti and Pits.
Kyrre decided to run towards me, without a spell book, as it turned out, and I met her right by the castle. I managed to win the FB thanks to 70 shooters and some small mistakes by the opponent. It was all on a knife's edge.
