In the USA, they simply played on this very successfully, and it was easier for them. In our country, there was a real lack of available pleasures, which led to envy of the West and rejection of our own culture (it's a pity that no one in the KGB came up with the idea of doing this in America, or if they did, they couldn't pull it off). Moreover, socialism is generally a misguided branch of development...
Regarding retreating into quasi-reality - I meant that if you get too carried away with it, it becomes a pathology.
