I'll keep experimenting. I installed all the Windows updates, and I'll try it out tonight. I was playing a tournament map by Vovchik, and it completely froze when I entered a certain Fortress. Yesterday, after updating to 1.8, I was able to enter and rebuild the Fortress, but as soon as I started a multiplayer game, it froze on the first day when I entered the Castle for the second time... I currently have a system drive that's an SSD, and I installed Heroes on it... maybe that's the problem... It's a shame. I don't want to have to reinstall XP just for Heroes...
