It was risky to play against Castle on Jebus Cross, but I didn't feel like queuing for SMC again. As a result, the template choice essentially won me the game: the opponent, trying to keep up the tempo on the respawn with a ton of blockers, collapsed.

Confirmed. After all the rests, things were looking somewhat grim. Only an external dwelling of horses, not much gold, but there were three cons. I went for the horses, but by day 6 there was nothing left to do on the respawn, so I decided to break through to the secondary. I did break through, but my army was so thinned out that I could forget about the external dwelling. I was in a rush; in principle, the game was still playable...
