1. July 18 (date of the Victor's registration) – on this day, the July plenum of the Hungarian Workers' Party, which opened, removed Mátyás Rákosi from the post of First Secretary of the HWP. Ernő Gerő was elected as the new First Secretary of the HWP, and the rehabilitated János Kádár and Dzsula Kállai were returned to the party leadership.

2. January 4 (date of Dag's registration) – the first Soviet Antarctic expedition was delivered to the shores of Antarctica.

3. May 31 (date of Nephele's registration) – the first decree on agrarian reforms was issued in Tunisia – public and private lands of religious institutions and clergy were secularized and nationalized.

4. November 1 (Neyra's birthday) – Imre Nagy announced Hungary's withdrawal from the Warsaw Pact and declared it a neutral country. The Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party was created.
