The number of truly effective techniques and tactics is still limited, no matter how much a person tries to improvise. The more experienced a player is, the better they master one or a group of them. But at a significant level of skill, they already begin to master them all well and no longer give preference to the one they can perform best, but begin to use the one that is most appropriate in a given specific situation.
