The reason is that humanity is falling into a pit of mediocrity, stupidity, and idleness, induced by the consumerist state. And that's not good. But that's just a lyrical digression. In other words, it is necessary to develop artificial intelligence technologies to create neural networks capable of simulating brain activity. But for this, it is necessary to create terabytes of software, which, under current conditions, with the involvement of available programming languages, is simply impossible. In other words, an adequate language is needed that can reproduce multiple structures and syntax specified by the operator, and satisfy the needs of performing the functions of this neural network. As long as we live in a consumer society, a new milestone in progress is impossible for technical reasons. There simply aren't enough people.
