Thoughts on the scenario after completing "Hammers of Fate".

I still have one question about the scenario: why wasn't Godric resurrected by the Archangels after his death? After all, unlike Nicholas, he wasn't killed by magic, and therefore they could have resurrected him. I've played through the game three times and still don't understand.
