Maybe there are some super-cool players who don't even know about this resource! Let's not look ridiculous if they happen to stumble upon it.

That's already funny... what do "super-cool" players have to do with it if the ranking isn't for all players at all, but only for players on our portal?
And even if they come (which would be very good), in what way would we look ridiculous (please explain)?
