Greater demons

When jumping, elder demons receive twice as much retaliation damage. The question is: if you attack a knight unit with a skilled counter-attack skill (25% extra damage on counter-attack), for example, will the retaliation damage be (1+0.25)*2=2.5 or 1*2+0.25=2.25?:confused:
