The population was the same, so as not to introduce distortions based on this parameter.

What is unclear in the calculations? How else could it be? After all, they earn equally, but spend differently! What else needs explaining? :)

It's unclear why a player with a low rating wins and thereby increases their rating. Does such a thing happen in real life? In sports, for example? I'm not aware of it either; maybe you know?
