Firstly, a player with an older quick-start version will have a significant advantage on many maps, far more noticeable than what the hardcore players are discussing in the messages above.
It's not very clear what to do in such a case. Playing against a player who uses an older quick-start version is simply not an option. You'll have to revert to an older version (or 3.0 without everything) and put up with bugs like viewing cities, etc., if that's what falls under "every little thing."
What kind of advantage is there if the mod doesn't allow you to play with the original quick-start against the corrected one, and doesn't even allow you to play in a way that something in the gameplay is different on one end of the connection than on the other? How many times do I have to repeat this, rearranging the words, for it to sink in?
(The buggy RC5 doesn't count; besides the replayability of the quick-start, it has enough bugs, and it's not suitable for a final release)
By the way, the Russian mega-pack in the mod includes gems.
