I don't know about WT, but in my Complete Collection, such tricks sometimes work.

The key word here is "sometimes." Entering any map with any hero (especially a canned map) is risky, both in SOD and WT. The possibility of replaying won't help, because you'll end up with the same loss manually.

I agree with Britvochka; a cancelable quick battle is an unconditional and equivalent benefit for both players, at least with the SOD timer. Optionality and conditionality (HD vs. HD) are unnecessary.
