“Burn him at the stake!” the priest shouted. “He burned half the city down. You were caught, tied up, and set on fire. Doused with holy water. -30 HP. Katya tried to save you, but in the end, she went to visit the bear. She’s bored with you. Get out of here quickly, before you end up with Urgash.”
I woke up in a pile of straw from an overturned cart...
I see people starting to rock the prison wagon that arrived with me... The wagon tips over, and a little imp tumbles out and runs across the cobblestones... The crowd shouts and chases after him... Then, priests emerge from the cathedral, grab the imp... The crowd tries to get to the imp themselves, but the guards block their way... A fight breaks out... Meanwhile, the priests quickly set up a bonfire (thankfully, they don’t have to look for fire :smile02:) and douse the poor fellow with holy water...
“They’re beating up our people!” I thought, and I started to consider a plan to save the poor guy...
Suddenly, I saw a monster hunter... Urgash, take me! Oh, it’s Tanegark... No, wait, Tengrok... I can never remember his name... And I always end up calling him by the wrong name after a few puffs of “Krasavka,” mixed with orcish tobacco... or something else... Damn it, Askh to eternal torment!
“Good times,” I thought, drifting into memories...
Suddenly, a wild noise of flapping wings is heard... Mother of God, begone, Askh! A whole host of Archangels... Is it spring for them??? Are they flying south??? What do they have to do there with Elrat? There’s nothing for them to do but gang up on a poor vampire, a little imp, a swordsman, and a peasant! They really gave everyone a beating... They didn’t offend anyone...
The angels fly away. I summon a demon, and without getting out from under the hay... I send him on a reconnaissance mission...
But the priests weren’t fools... and they sensed the magic... They caught the little demon and put him on the stake again...
“My father, am I having hallucinations? Or is it déjà vu, as the potheads say? They put the demon on the stake... douse him with holy water... just like in the script :D ... I’ve seen this somewhere before...”
Then, a crowd of hardened heroes and crazy mages bursts out of the prison... They knock all the guards and priests around... There’s another little demon with them... and they all go back to their cells...
I get out from under the cart, and the townspeople notice me... They shout, “There he is, the devil!” and chase after me... I run towards the quieter part of the city... the Citadel... Maybe the Emperor will protect his loyal servant...
[I am, after all, a well-known performer and DJ... In Illor, they once gave me a bag of silver for a month-long tour! (True, I and Vujin drank it all in one day... The guy knows how to have fun... He’s one of us!) Here, I entertained the public, fulfilled a state order... for which, by the way, I never got paid! I honestly tried to calm the crowd...]
“No, I definitely need to talk to the Emperor and demand my money! My time is valuable, you know!”
“I thought, overtaking a carriage at a turn... The crowd was still chasing me... Now I’m at the gates of the inner citadel... The guards notice us and clearly start preparing for our arrival... I calmly, in a hysterical voice, suppressing my emotions, shout...”
“SAVE ME!!! THE STAR IS BEING KILLED!!!”
[Off-topic: Magnus is, in my opinion, the only way to explain how the imp was saved twice and in different ways... And besides, I don’t want to go to jail! What did I do...? Don’t create such abrupt situations in which players can’t do anything... and they end up in jail... brilliant!]
