Well, there's a lot of criticism, but autobattle doesn't lead to equalizing skill or spreading it out.
If a newbie only plays battles using autobattle, then their micro-management skills won't improve, that's true. BUT! The newbie needs to understand that if they don't move beyond autobattle and learn to micro-manage, they'll remain a newbie. There are people who understand this, and they will improve, while those who don't understand these basic things will get zero results, whether autobattle is available or not.
