Player rating for tournaments across all installments of Heroes.

You know, it always seemed to me that the rating is calculated as the sum of results from different unrelated tournaments.

The difficulty here is that a player can participate in one tournament but may not participate in another. This leads to a stratification of the player base. And the true strength of a player in Heroes can only be determined relative to the leaders of a particular version, right? But the dominant factor here will be not the position in the tournament, but the result, and how close it is to the leader in terms of completion time.
