I was just discussing an idea with Morti on Skype, and he suggested we talk about it here. The possibility of transferring a person into a digital form. Imagine that a person's character, way of thinking, and soul are taken and recorded in binary code. What do you think, esteemed scientists, is this possible? I think it is quite possible, at least theoretically. In practice, however, it will be a very long time before we can do this. Given the complexity of a person and their character, it is extremely difficult to record them in binary code, and besides, the resulting file will be truly gigantic. Why would we need this? For example, we could "back up" a person. They get into an accident, die in a car crash, for example, but there is a digital copy of them that contains information about both the person's physical form and what is stored in their brain. It is taken to a special place where the person is restored materially, and then psychologically. Or, for example, we could create certain virtual conditions for the digital copy and see what would happen to that person. How would they behave in a particular situation? We could see if the person is capable of learning something or understanding something. Perhaps we could even arrange for an accelerated maturation of a child's copy and see what they might become, or view a possible future without maturation. We could do anything. Place two copies of a person in the same virtual environment and see how they interact. In theory, we could even completely virtually recreate the Earth and the people who inhabit it. Or simulate any situation. This reminds me of the movie "The Matrix," and I somehow came to it unintentionally. We are discussing this topic. Right?
