Haha, I thought that arrow was like in Heroes of Might and Magic V – it collapses the minimap.

Yes, exactly. I noticed it while playing the introductory campaign.

They not only take mass damage (i.e., absorb some of the damage), but if they can reach the enemy, they attack it in return.
So, with a bit of luck, the enemy can take two counter-attacks.
