I can't seem to figure out the puzzle from VDV :( Unfortunately.... Oh well, I'll have to wait for someone to reveal the secret - it seems I'm not meant to:o :D
In general, here's how it goes:
Turn 1. Mass slow. Rust Dragons defend, Gold Dragons, Bears, Knights – move forward, but make sure the Footmen don't reach them. Halflings kill the Knights. Archers attack the Halflings.
Turn 2. Curse everyone. Rust Dragons wait. Gold Dragons move 6 squares back, Bears move back and slightly up, so that the Boars have 7 squares to reach them. Archers attack the Halflings, Medusas crawl towards the Cyclops. Footmen run towards the Bears. Rust Dragons move to the bottom right corner.
Turn 3. Rust Dragons wait, Gold Dragons fly up. Bears run up so that the Gold Golems, Crystal Golems, and Trolls attack them. Archers attack the Halflings. Footmen can't reach the Dragons (Mummies can attack the Rust Dragons). Rust Dragons fly back and position themselves so that they won't be reached on the next turn.
Turn 4. Rust Dragons and Gold Dragons wait. Finish off the Halflings. Footmen move forward. Rust Dragons to the bottom right corner, Gold Dragons so that they distract the Gold Golems and Trolls towards the top right corner.
Turn 5 and onwards. Similar to turn 4: Dragons fly back and forth. Footmen chase the Dragons until they are destroyed by the Archers.
Note. Mummies attacked the Rust Dragons on turns 3, 5, 7, and 9 until they were destroyed. The Rust Dragons can be healed a couple of times. I didn't think I'd be asked to describe the battle tactics, I hope I didn't make any mistakes.
