And one more thing – I would like to ask everyone about the tactics for killing ifrits (I didn't do this quest myself, although I saw it. The reason is that I lost more troops killing ifrits than I gained in the end. The reason is their incredibly strong fire shield. So, how did you all do it?)
It strongly depends on the army. I had a couple of azure dragons ensure the first turn, and several times "fear" was triggered on the enemy. Then I had the Cursed Armor – slowing down the enemy. Gargoyles (level 1) removed the retaliation, and then upgraded vampires finished everything – and they are almost immune to the Fire Shield... :)

What's the deal? Why do they only surrender for money on normal difficulty? Did it depend on the map, or was it specifically because it was NORMAL difficulty?
The probability of neutral units surrendering is recalculated each time when the save is generated... Normal and Impossible are two different saves, which means that units surrender differently, different artifacts are on the map, and in the Utopias... On Impossible, there were three free surrenders, and on Normal – none...
