I mean, I didn't like him from the start, especially when he said whether it's okay to cast blue spells on himself, but I don't see any connections yet.

Well, someone from the Mafia had to defend Toxi. He was the first to come to his aid, and even took the blame himself. Without a doubt, even though he knew Toxi was wrong. They could have developed the idea that the Mafia didn't attack because the game schedule wasn't clear and blah blah blah.
But they both clearly stated that the healing came from the Mafia. He can't be the Doctor alone. Nor can he be the Mana Vampire - also alone. To think that one of them is the Doctor and the other is the Mana Vampire is absurd. The Mana Vampire wouldn't defend anyone. He's been exposed - let him burn. I think Maskara could very well be the Mana Vampire.
