Actually, it's good that corksink let slip about the DD from the ship! ;) This should be kept in mind by all mapmakers when deciding whether to allow DD on their map. In particular, I was just thinking about allowing DD on one of my maps, but forcing the player to travel part of the way by sea: then, as I thought, the gates, guardians, and guards could not be bypassed in any way - how wrong I was! But now I will take this clever "move" into account! :)
It's just great that no one on your map will be able to bypass the guards! :D Then the Book of Air Magic and the Orator's Hat are automatically prohibited.
