By the way - I realized one more thing - Yurka and I played on TE - and in this case SoD was clearly more advantageous! This became obvious immediately.... Unfortunately, we don't have SoD - so we had to play with what we have....:( That's how it is.

From here - questions:

1. Which first-level spells were in the mages guild in the starting town? If I'm not mistaken, Slow in TE is second-level magic, which means you couldn't have acquired it upon building the guild, because in the "Normal" save, Slow is in the first-level guild, so when buying the book, Raper would have had it anyway.

2. And the second significant point: Town Portal is fire magic in TE, and therefore, without it, the main heroes encounter logistics problems on the map in the second half of the game. Earth, however, is given to the hero in Pandora at the start.

There are probably other significant differences as well.
That's why SoD was still more preferable...
