Yes, you're attacking a non-upgraded Guardian. And if there are, say, 49 giants there, and you attack with a Shoah, then in 20% of cases, a stack of 7 Titans will appear. The Shoah will be killed, but 42 units will remain in the Guardian. You can only use this trick with a non-upgraded Guardian.
