D3 - waited 12 years, SC2 - 11, and we've been waiting for the SC2 expansion for 3 years already, although they promised it in 1.5.
I just play very slowly and carefully. I don't miss a single mob, resource pile, artifact, or building. No autobattles. Maximum 2-4 active heroes.
That's why I can spend a month on one map, about 2 hours a day.
Sometimes there can be breaks from 2 days to a week.
But still, I slowly and steadily move forward in the campaign.
And I'll also play the Barbarian campaign along the way.
