HoMM3 HD is a mod (add-on) for the game Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
The Monolith is an integral object of the game (in offline mode, it can be quite strategic and extreme — if the monolith is made invisible... if only it were like that online). Online, when generating maps using templates with multiple connections between zones, glitches (bugs) often occur, such as shifted guards, additional passages (that shouldn't be there), disruptions to the road network, patches of water (on a land map) and darkness, or land with unclear content (at the edges of maps), and consequently teleporters and monoliths leading to nowhere (i.e., into those same bugged map fragments), as well as solitary monoliths (without a nearby paired antipode). It is important to know at which stage the generation failure occurs, in order to correct its consequences as accurately as possible. If it happens during the interpretation of mathematical aggregates like Delaunay triangulation and Voronoi diagrams (which is roughly how our respawns are drawn), then only qualified individuals can figure that out. Monoliths in online maps should always be placed in pairs: an entrance and a nearby exit. What can be done to ensure the linking object is always generated fully and as correctly as possible (given that WOG scripts are not applicable)? For example, rigidly tying objects to each other somehow (perhaps setting a placement radius). And then there are radical methods: replacing monoliths with properties of regular teleporters; adding new teleporters (I have also seen proposals for def.-files). The latter methods can be applied by anyone playing SoD on their own, just by digging a little into the resources. For instance, in a 2 vs. 2 game, I generate Jebus Cross maps without a cartographer, without a Hill Fort, without tents — in SoD. You can also ban sea artifacts. You could, of course, also talk about banning bugged Spheres and such, but not here. Many bugs have already been fixed thanks to the mod. Consider it polishing the SoD version. We need to gradually get rid of all sorts of bugs to make the game more enjoyable. I think it will eventually reach the Tournament module. As long as the author has enough desire and capability.Marmot... dnaop-wr
... this is not a bug, but a shortcoming of the game's creators, who didn't think that 8 two-way monoliths would someday become too few. But the creators are no longer responsible for anything and cannot improve anything, so all that remains is to appeal to the creators of the WT or HD-mod.
The standard set of templates from 3DO (built into the game) includes 8MM6 and the more cumbersome Dragons with 33 zones. Even a simple 2SM4d(3) is generated with bugs (albeit of a different nature) not so rarely. It's sometimes useful to review the technical details.Dirty_Player
A washing machine is good, but when it's also a juicer, that's just absurd.
As it happens, inventive rationalizers successfully make such things for processing fruit in garden plots, for your information. And you can't say they're brainless... Just because you have coordinator rights doesn't mean you should inspire spammers by being their leader (that's how it turns out), but on the contrary — eradicate them, and perhaps think about how to help achieve the ability to edit the first post.
