Poems by an unknown author.
More and more often, I hear barking from the sky.
It falls like a shower of stars.
Dogs are entering paradise
And searching for us there in vain.
And, with their sensitive noses held high,
They wander through the heavenly thickets,
And they don't know why
They can't find their masters.
The dog god is not to blame.
He barks with them, as best he can.
They are innocent and know nothing of hell
Because of their purity.
And they will not take the last trace
Of their inconsolable masters.
But even there, where there is no suffering,
They suffer for us, the sinners.
I am not a saint. And I will be glad,
Condemned to the ultimate punishment,
To stand at the gates of paradise,
Like at a dog kennel.
And to whistle one last time,
And, if I have the strength, to give a command,
What is hell to me, what is death to me!
Life without a dog is worse than hell.
Военное дело просто и вполне доступно здравому уму человека. Но воевать сложно.
