You always have to pay for comfort ;) A player using a mod has more time to think, can calculate move points down to the last one, and build chains with precision to the nearest cell. In my opinion, this advantage is much more significant than knowing the approximate amount of money and the number of cities of the opponent, so it's still a question of who is actually given the privileges in this case :)
I don't care about such a "price." The fact that a SOD (Save-On-Death) is running on the other side is the problem of the conservative player, not mine. And in the mod itself, it's just a small, underdeveloped aspect. But it's definitely not some kind of "price." It's unclear to whom, for what, and why.
