Google has begun accepting pre-orders for the prototype of its experimental Glass computer, which is designed as a pair of glasses with a built-in display. However, pre-orders are currently only available to developers in the United States who wish to test the device prototype, as announced by the company's co-founder, Sergey Brin, at the Google I/O conference.

Wearable computers are devices that are attached directly to the human body and have advanced communication capabilities. Glass is expected to have all the functionality of a smartphone – it can be used to make regular and video calls, send messages, leave geolocation check-ins and posts on social networks, take notes, take photos and videos, use mapping services, listen to music, and more.
