Which heroes in Heroes of Might and Magic III are the easiest to play through the game with? And how can I determine the number of units in a stack?

I haven't played them in a while (about 5 years) and I've already forgotten what's what... thanks to the wiki, I found the names of all the parts and remembered that the first of the third ones was "The Restoration of Erathia." Okay, I downloaded it, cracked it... started playing, but when I got to around the third mission, it became unrealistically difficult... but after almost two days, I completed that mission, then started the next one, and it turned out to be no easier, but about as difficult to complete... in general, it's incredibly unusual to have such difficult missions almost from scratch. Please tell me which of the third Heroes games was the easiest to complete... at least in your opinion. I'm interested in both Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (HMM3) and Heroes Chronicles. Other parts besides the third one are not of interest.

And a small addition - where can I see the "encrypted" number of troops in a unit, like "legion," "crowd," "numerous," etc.? I'm also interested in the "decryptions" from all the "Chronicles" and all the Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
