Menti, here's another piece of news:
Leading Russian scientists, united in the public movement "Russia-2045" and proposing to Dmitry Medvedev to support a project to create an artificial body, have begun to implement their ambitious plan. At the same time, research will be conducted in several directions at once.
In particular, specialists hope to create an artificial copy of a person, controlled by thought using neurointerfaces. Developers have called this body an "avatar," by analogy with the film of the same name by James Cameron, although the concept itself is more reminiscent of "surrogates" from John Mostow's film.
"Conservatism and fantasy let down the creators of 'Surrogates' - they offered a negative forecast for the widespread introduction of artificial bodies. But the essence of the technological project in the film is conveyed correctly. The first prototype of the 'avatar' will be created within the next four years. The technologies, of course, will not be at such a high level as in the film, but the very principle of the possibility of remote control of a copy of the human body through a neurointerface will be implemented," Dmitry Itskov, the initiator of the creation of the "Russia-2045" movement, told the publication "Vzglyad.ru." According to him, scientists hope to establish serial production of artificial bodies as early as 2020.
The second direction of research is the creation of a body into which the brain of a dying person could be transplanted. As some scientists believe, such a transplant may prolong a person's life to 200-300 years. Specialists expect to conduct the first successful experiments in just ten years, and by 2025, release serial samples.
The most difficult task facing the participants of "Russia-2045" is the transfer of the immaterial structure of a person's consciousness into a completely artificial body. Researchers hope to complete this work in 20 years.
The fourth direction of research in the future will be the development of a virtual body-hologram, which can be projected to any point in the physical or virtual world. "The fourth direction - the design of a body-hologram - looks the most futuristic. Indeed, its creation will be the most difficult task, but at the same time the most interesting of all that our civilization will face on the path of its evolution," Itskov said.
"The four areas of research I propose and the deadlines for their implementation are feasible. Of course, these timeframes are an optimistic forecast, but, according to a number of scientists, it is quite realistic. These are our intentions, our plan for the next 35 years. We will strive to fulfill it," Itskov concluded.
Recall that recently, participants in the "Russia-2045" movement turned to the president with an open letter, in which they proposed a new national idea. In particular, specialists in the field of neurointerface development, artificial organs, and systems ask the head of state to support a project to create an artificial human body, indicating that the artificial body will significantly surpass the existing one in its functional capabilities by 2045 and will reach perfection in form. Then people will be able to independently decide to continue life and development in a new body after all the resources of the biological one have been exhausted.
In a letter to the president, scientists propose to develop a system of views, values, and technologies that will help a person develop intellectually, morally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. According to experts, the creation of an artificial body is a project with a clearly expressed ideological orientation, capable of changing life for the better, destroying many stereotypes, and becoming the national idea that modern politicians and public figures are talking about.
