Recent advances in cyborg technology: scientists replaced a non-functioning part of a rat's brain with a computer chip. This was the part of the brain that coordinates movement. When the chip was turned off, the rats could not perform simple coordinated movements in response to a stimulus. But as soon as the chip was turned on, everything returned to normal.
