As my rejection of contemporary music progresses, I continue to delve into the nineties and listened to the third album by Primus - Pork Soda. I must say that understanding this music was initially difficult for me, as Primus doesn't have a specific genre and is the only band with its own official IDv3 tag in Winamp. But Pork Soda is magnificent. As usual, Les Claypool amazes with his bass playing talent, against which his vocals take a backseat (and in the song Mr. Krinkle, he even replaced the simple bass with a double bass, and in the music video for this song, he plays it in a pig costume). In general, on many tracks, the vocals are simply discarded as unnecessary, but where they are present... In this regard, I liked the song The Air Is Getting Slippery the most, whose simple humor nevertheless brings a smile:
He sold enough crystal meth to buy a stepside truck,
But if you ask me, I would say the boy ain't worth a fu~rgive me if I hesitate...
And, of course, the song that made the band famous, My Name Is Mud. Because white trash is always a great topic for jokes.
In general, if music cannot be divided into genres and should be one, words are not the main thing in a song, and one death differs from another by the presence of a comedic framing (see the song Bob and the aforementioned My Name Is Mud), then Primus with their "Pork Soda" is the best confirmation of this.
