I do that regularly. When Firefox starts to slow down, I use Chrome for a while until I'm not too lazy to reinstall the OS and start using Firefox again. But this time, "a while" has been going on for a very long time.
And Chrome is just terrible and inconvenient in some ways. And you can't group tabs in it.
